About Et Al

Et Al Designs handcrafts candles of exquisite artisan-embellished elegance, blending traditional handrolled beeswax techniques with modern motifs and materials.

But we believe that what makes us unique is our focus on the people who create our candles.

The process begins with the vision of founder Alina Bednarz, who blends an experienced eye from her years in high fashion, her childhood in Europe, art and objects seen in her global travels, ideas from her observations of nature, objects, and interesting textures and materials to our studio and team. Here, ideas are translated into sketches and wax samples, with new shapes being hand-molded and embellished by an artist whose natural talent for color, shape and decoration has been encouraged and developed at Et Al.

Samples and sketches are sent to the production locations, cottage factories in Asia where small groups of women handcraft the designs. Each candle is rolled, carved, braided, dyed, or decorated by a pair of hands. Alina works directly with these artisans, ensuring that each candle meets the stringent design and quality standards that Et Al sets.

Attention to detail does not end there. Our staff make sure that customers receive personal care: each customer relationship is highly valued by our team, all of whom have worked at Et Al for over a decade. The result is candles that have an extra measure of personal warmth and beauty not found in 'manufactured' candles. It is this commitment to recognizing talent, teaching new skills, exploring new designs and materials, and nurturing relationships that inspires us at Et Al Designs.
